Digital Infrared Images of Carmo Convent

On my last day in Lisboa, I decided to spend it going to Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel or Carmo Convent for short. The broken Gothic landscape, with stone walls and a missing roof would make any Tim Burton fan smile with delight.

Though the structure was built in 1423, created as a Roman Catholic refuge it was occupied till 1775, until a violent 8.5 earthquake demolished down the entire region. The entirety of the destruction took between 10,000 - 100,000 lives on the morning of Saturday, 1 November, the holy day of All Saints' Day with the combination with subsequent candle lit flames and a tsunami, the earthquake almost totally eradicated Lisbon and adjoining areas.

Now the holy ruins stands in solidarity as a morbid reminder of the wrath of nature can bring. Upon visiting the space, I brought my Infrared Canon DSLR XTI, I know super old... don't laugh. However, it was fitting for the supreme architecture.

Hidden Treasures: (Consi.Go) Lisboa, Portugal

Hats off to this adorable organic consignment shop called Consi.Go in old town Lisboa. In my third day in I decided to check out some of the local parks (Jardim do Estrela), mostly to cool off from the intense summer heat. As I am a native Californian and easily take nature over a crowded city 4 ot of 7 days of the week, fresh foods vs meat most of the time.

With my borrowed Fuji T-X1 in hand I was a completely breath taken at how beautiful and fresh their produce was. Actually in hindsight after shopping in the various grocery stores Consi.Go had the best selection of fresh produce, best tasting and most beautiful display which what very pleasing to the eye - as you can tell.

I have to also stop and rave about how much I also love the comfort, versatility and picture quality pf the Fuji T-XI. I reminded me of my first film camera, with throwback settings that simulates Fuji Film. It is the best of both worlds.

This lil baby is next on my wish list, though I am typically a Canon Girl... Might have to re-think my options. It's not only light weight, easy to use, perfect for hiking up and down the many hills of Lisbon, add a Black Rapid and you'd be ready to do back flips for this comfortable travel photog set up.
